The shamali is a traditional women's garment in Akaryth. It is worn by married women, and can vary from plainly colored, rough woolen affairs among peasant
women to elaborately embroidered silk ones among noblewomen.
The shamali is a combination laced-up bodice and overskirt, usually long enough to reach the knees, but not necessarily long enough to cover the entire dress. Peasant women often sew pockets into them, finding them incredibly practical.
